Melamine Phosphate (MP) is halogen-free nitrogen-phosphorus Flame Retardant.

MP is white powder, has good water resistance, used in intumescent flame retardant systems. MP has a char-forming intumescent mechanism.
Its nitrogen is from melamine (triazine-based).

MP is applied to halogen-free flame retardant of polyolefin resins, intumescent fireproofing coatings, acrylic glues, thermosets, epoxy, engineering plastics, synthetic rubber and so on.
MP has excellent material compatibility with many kinds of polyolefin elastomers, and can be made into high-concentration flame retardant masterbatch to improve the diversity of processing.

    Thermal decomposition temperature more than 250℃, the actual processing temperature can be reach within 220℃.

Technical Data:
Appearance: White powder, non-toxic, odourless, insoluble in water and most organic solvents.

Flame Retardant Mechanisms:

  • Melamine decomposition, needs to absorb heat from the polymer to reduce the surface temperature of the substrate. Decomposition temperature of Melamine salts is high.
  • Release inert gases, these non-flammable gases can dilute oxygen, reducing the concentration of combustible gases.
  • Nitrogen-phosphorus synergist.
    Phosphorus promote char-forming, Nitogen release inert gases which will promote the foaming and expansion of the carbonised layer, so it can prevent the convection of heat and outside oxygen better.

20kg/25kg/50kg per bag.
Handle with care, keep airtight and dry. Non-toxic, but pay attention to the protection of the fine powder.
